The number one question we receive from pet owners is about how they can get pet smells out of their homes. This is a problem that has plagued pet owners since the beginning of time and Ultra-Clean has the answer. Traditional carpet cleaners often address the carpet surface, by trying to clean the visible animal waste, leaving a much larger problem underneath the carpet—in the carpet backing, pad and the subfloor. Traditional carpet cleaning methods may simply mask remaining odors by spreading perfumes or other odor masking agents, offering only temporary solution. They do this because they do not have a permanent solution for cleaning and eliminating odors.
In most cases our normal carpet cleaning and deodorization process may be all that is needed. In more severe cases, the urine sometimes soaks through the carpet backing into the padding and floor beneath. In this case, the problem has become “multi-layered” and effective remediation must address each layer of the problem. In this case a subsurface extraction process is required. This process utilizes a specialized tool called a Urine/Water Claw. This tool is used to extract urine from the carpet, backing, underlay and subfloor. A specialized sanitizing product is used in this process to kill odour causing bacteria.
